Spectral plasmon signatures in sum- and difference-frequency generation

报告简介

After a brief introduction into Surface Plasmon Polaritons (SPP) and surface nonlinear interactions, I will present my group’s results on sum- and difference-frequency generation with polychromatic light near SPP resonances in a Kretschmann configuration. I will describe pronounced spectral shifts and giant spectral modifications in the sum- and difference-frequency fields at the SPP resonance. I will compare and contrast the sum and difference frequency cases. Finally, I will outline potential applications of our results to ultra-sensitive surface sensors.

个人简介

Sergey Ponomarenko earned his Ph.D. degree in theoretical optical physics from the University of Rochester, USA under the tutelage of Prof. Emil Wolf, a founder of classical optical coherence theory. Prior to joining Dalhousie University, Canada as a tenure-track faculty and a Canada Research Chair in 2006, Dr. Ponomarenko had held a Director’s Postdoctoral Fellowship at Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA from 2004 to 2006. In 2010, Dr. Ponomarenko was promoted to Associate Professorship and his Canada Research Chair award was renewed. In his spare time, Dr. Ponomarenko tries to understand better fundamental aspects of optical coherence theory, nonlinear statistical optics and plasmonics with his graduate students and postdocs. He also enjoys track and half-marathon running, weight training, and an occasional badminton game among other sports activities.

部分相干激光束关联结构调控及应用基础

部分相干激光束在许多领域具有独特的优势。传统部分相干激光束的空间关联结构满足高斯函数分布，近年来具有非传统关联结构的部分相干激光束受到越来越多学者的关注。具有特殊空间关联结构的部分相干激光束表现出自聚焦、自偏移、自分裂、自整形等奇特特性，在大气激光光通信、光学成像、微粒俘获和操控等领域具有重要的应前景。空间关联结构的调控为光束性质调控提供了一个崭新的手段。本报告将介绍部分相干激光束空间关联结构调控及应用基础方面的研究进展。

个人简历

蔡阳健,男，1977年12月出生，博士，苏州大学物理与光电·能源学部特聘教授、博士生导师、国家杰出青年科学基金获得者、全国百篇优秀博士学位论文获得者、德国洪堡基金获得者。2005年毕业于浙江大学物理系，获物理学专业博士学位，2006年毕业于瑞典皇家工程学院，获电磁场理论专业博士学位。2006-2009年在德国爱尔兰根马普光学研究所（原爱尔兰根马普光学研究组）从事博士后研究，并获德国洪堡基金。2009年加入苏州大学，被聘为特聘教授。长期从事激光光场调控、光束传输、大气光学、光学成像等研究，在国际权威刊物发表SCI收录论文238篇，他引3000多次，获发明专利授权5项。作为第二参与人获教育部高等学校科学技术奖自然科学奖二等奖、浙江省高校优秀科研成果奖一等奖、浙江省自然科学优秀论文一等奖。主持国家杰出青年科学基金、国家自然科学基金、全国百篇优秀博士学位论文专项基金、霍英东基金、江苏省自然科学基金等项目。入选“2010 年江苏省十大青年科技之星”，入选Elsevier发布的“2014年中国高被引用学者榜单（物理学和天文学）”和“2015年中国高被引用学者榜单（物理学和天文学）”。曾担任国际刊物Optics & Laser Technology 副主编 (2012-2014年)。
